Our broodmares

Maeve

abcr 1846

This mare has a special place in my heart. She also has a life time home with me. Her name is Maeve, abcr 1846. Maeve has a heart of gold, and a good work ethic. Her sire was the Yellow Hornet. Her dam was of the Bill Mare line. You can see the Bill Mare influence very strongly in her. Some photos and other information about Maeve's 2006 foal are shown below.

Maeve with her newborn '06 Colt, Penny's Chief., who can be seen on our front page.

Maeve is presently very happily in foal to Mississippi Mud Slinger, our stallion. She is due in mid March. The foal has already been named. I have a strong feeling that it will be a filly and her name will probably be White Bird.

Erin ’s Lila

abcr 2953

Please meet the horse love of my life, Erin ’s Lila.  She is my riding mare.  She does well on trails and has shown herself to be both willing and kind.  (She is a good mount for an old lady like me.)

One day she will be bred again to Mud Slinger.  The first breeding to Mud Slinger resulted in a gelding named  Penny’s Lyle.  (Lyle is even sweeter than his dam, if that is possible.)

Erin ’s Madeline

abcr 2954

Please meet another of our beloved brood mares.  Erin ’s Madeline, ABC 2954.  Madeline is truly a mare for all seasons.  She has, when bred to Mud Slinger, produced two good quality foals, a daughter named Penny’s Isabel and a son named Penny’s Warrior.  (In the future we will have pictures of Penny’s Warrior on this site.)

But there is more, Madeline is broke to saddle.  Again, she has proven her trustworthiness.  She both runs barrels and she goes as a quiet trail horse.  See the two pictures below.

Madeline will not be bred this year because I want to get her very well broke and enjoy her out on trail.
