American Bashkir Curly Horses For Sale

SWEET HEART

We are reluctantly offering Sweet Heart for sale, because we have decided to breed only ABCR registerable horses for the present time. Sweetheart can be registered with the International Curly Horse Organization (ICHO), and several other registries; the Buckskin Horse Registry, the American Indian Horse Registry, and the International Buckskin Horse Registry, but not with the ABCR.

Sweet Heart is a peach dun with primitive markings on her shoulders and legs. She is a straight haired curly from a curly sire and dam. She goes back to the beginnings of the registry; through her sire to the first ABCR stud, Peter J ABC-1, and Kugler's Inez, and through her dam to Copper D ABC-2. She also goes back to Ernie Hammrich's favorite stud, Big Mac Dunny Boy.

Sweet Heart shows some of the best traits in the Curly breed. She likes people, wants to please, and responds well to training. She is not spooky but thinks a problem through before reacting. She is gentle yet bold when appropiate. Her conformation is good but still refined.

She is halter broke, understands pressure and release, has good ground manners and leads well. She is now 27 months old and has been with me since she was a 6 month old weanling. The price is $1,500 which is what I paid for her.

In mid June, 2008 Penny's Isabel was sold. Her new owner, a breeder in Idaho, plans to have her trained to ride and to breed her.
